Janet Metson Urman, AIA is a full-service architectural firm specializing in residential design. After graduating from UCLA and SciARC, principal architect Janet Metson Urman worked at several Los Angeles design firms before opening her own office almost twenty years ago.
The firm provides complete architectural services from as-built documentation through construction administration. We work with a team of consultants to meet the needs of a wide variety of projects and diverse client base.
We recognize that the constantly changing world requires that an architectural practice provide a design process that offers clients choice and flexibility. Los Angeles contains a richness of architectural styles, and the unique qualities of each site, house, and client informs the architectural response. Design solutions must consider both the messiness and beauty of today's complex lifestyles.
Among her volunteer activities, Metson Urman was a Wexner Heritage Foundation Fellow and chaired the board of her children's school for three years. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Association of Women in Architecture.
She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Harold and children Mikaela and Zachary.
