Bolton Road

After completing a successful kitchen renovation for the residence, the clients returned a few years later with a request to remodel and enlarge the rest of their home. The 1970s Los Angeles tract house located in Cheviot Hills was transformed into a modern Craftsman-style residence. Because of the property’s significant changes in grade, the house steps up the site, creating three distinct levels. Indoor/outdoor living is encouraged through a variety of outdoor spaces, including an open courtyard on the middle terrace, and a new swimming pool on the upper terrace. The house works well for entertaining, with a casual openness between living and dining areas. At the same time, the bedrooms and primary suite maintain a sense of separation and privacy from the public areas of the home. The interior finishes use traditional Craftsman Style details and rich color hues in a more relaxed, modern way. The kitchen remodel was published in House Beautiful and appeared on HGTV’s “I Want That Kitchen!”
