Ventura Canyon Avenue

This new home, situated in an urban wooded canyon, reinterprets the California Ranch House for contemporary times. The structure is comfortably nestled into a tight hillside lot. Sloped roofs mimic the nearby mountains, while strategically placed windows frame exterior views. The use of natural materials for both exterior and interior finishes brings the feeling of the natural surroundings into the home. Solar panels and other sustainable strategies were used throughout the project, and the client’s wish to age in the home was considered in all aspects of the design.
